On the 11th of September 2025, EU policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators met to debate the future of green ammonia in Europe at the conference ‘’What can Brussels do for Green Ammonia’’. Plasma2X were invited and Business Development Director Mike Tooke joined an industry panel discussing the associated industrial/technological space.
Organised by LOMARTOV and Danish Technological Institute (DTI), the conference “What can Brussels do for green ammonia” aimed to bring key issues to Brussels to discuss how and what policy and regulatory support can do for decentralised production and debate the needs of the sector.
The industry panel we took part in highlighted the need for both decentralised and larger centralised plants, and emphasised the importance of recognising ammonia as a fuel, since this action could play a pivotal role in its market participation and improving access to funding. Public perception was also identified as a crucial factor, underscoring its relevance to ammonia’s wider development. It was concluded that information and education regarding ammonia´s applications, potential and safety is very important to be done, as the demand for the product seems to drastically increase in the near future.
The conference is part of the HORIZON Europe-funded project DARE2X, Decentralised Ammonia production from Renewable Energy utilising novel sorption-enhanced plasma-catalytic Power-to-X technology.
